THINGS TO DO/EVENTS

Lake Elmo is home to 18 parks with the two largest parks being Washington County's Regional Lake Elmo Park Reserve and the 284-acre Sunfish Lake Park. Residents looking to enjoy organized sports, hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding and more can do so at Sunfish Lake Park. The Lake Elmo Park Reserve is a 2,165-acre park that features a fishing pier and boat launch, swim pond and equestrian campgrounds.

If hitting the green is more your specialty, head to the 9-hole Cimarron Park Golf Course or the 27-hole Tartan Park. In addition to a challenging course, Tartan Park offers 12 tennis courts, four lighted softball fields, bocce courts, an archery range, picnic pavilions and more.

Area events include the annual Huff n' Puff softball tournament, the Summer Kick-Off Celebration in downtown Lake Elmo, and the nearby St. Croix Battle of the Bands. Additionally, residents can visit St. Paul and Minneapolis for the Mill City Museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Walker Art Center, the Guthrie Theatre, the Weisman Art Museum, or attend a professional ball game, including football, baseball and basketball in Minneapolis.

EDUCATION

The majority of Lake Elmo is part of the Stillwater School District. Students attend Lake Elmo Elementary School (grades K-6) and Oak-land Middle/Jr. High School (grades 7-9). Oak-Land was one of the pilot programs for a laptop program from a major technology retailer.

Higher education options are provided by Rasmussen College ? Lake Elmo/Woodbury campus offering bachelor and associate degrees. Additional nearby options include Century Community and Technical College in White Bear Lake, Metropolitan State College, St. Paul College, Concordia University, Hamline University, Northwestern College, Bethel University in St. Paul, and Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
